LISA HOWARD

Lisa Howard is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music from which she has a BFA in Musical Theater. On Broadway, she was most recently appeared as Tammy in “Escape to Margaritaville”. Lisa is most known for her starring role as Rona Lisa Peretti in William Finn’s Tony Award-winning musical “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” for which she received a Drama Desk Award (Best Ensemble). She also appeared as the Head Nurse in the Lincoln Center Theatre’s Tony Award-winning revival of “South Pacific”, Missy Hart in “9 to 5 the Musical”, Diva1 in “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” and as Jenny Steinberg in “It Shoulda Been You” in which she received a Drama Desk Nomination. She has toured with the national company of “Les Miserables” where she played many performances as Madame Thenardier, and performed leading roles around the country at such prominent regional theaters as the St. Louis MUNY, Olney Theater Center, Barrington Stage, Kansas City Starlight, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera and Goodspeed Opera House. Lisa made her feature film debut as Siobhan in “The Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn Part 2” and has appeared on television in “Ugly Betty”, “Power”, “Madame Secretary” and “The Good Fight”.

On the concert scene, Lisa has performed with the Cincinnati Symphony, The North Carolina Philharmonic as well as with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops. Lisa has also sung at Performing Arts Centers across the country with Spot-On-Entertainment. In NYC, she has appeared at Town Hall in the popular Broadway By The Year series, Broadway Winners, A Night at the Operetta, Broadway Unplugged and the Stephen Schwartz Tribute. She also performed with the Kaufman Center’s Broadway Close-up series in “More Infinite Joy” and “Even More Infinite Joy” (featuring the music of William Finn) and “Stephen Schwartz, Magic to Do” and she performed her solo show at Feinstein’s 54 Below.

In addition to performing, Lisa teaches private voice and vocal/acting coaching in the NYC tri-State area. She is a classically trained singer who emphasizes proper technique while achieving a contemporary musical theater sound. In addition to private coachings, she has been a guest speaker at Shenandoah University, Brigham Young University, The Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, Philadelphia School of the Arts and Boston Conservatory. She has also taught master classes for such companies as NY Offstage, Camp Broadway, Jeff Alexander Productions, Broadway Classroom, Orbit Arts Academy and the Levine School of Music.
