JOSHUA ISRAEL

Josh grew up dancing in the Washington D.C. area, performing at the National Cherry Blossom Festival, Wolf Trap, and D.C. Tap Festival, before moving to New York to study Musical Theater at NYU Tisch’s New Studio on Broadway and Business at NYU Stern. Since graduating with his BFA, he has worked as a dancer, actor, and singer across the country, from the Phoenix Symphony and Cleveland Pops with Spot-On Entertainment, all the way back home to Ford’s Theater in Washington D.C. As a choreographer, he was most recently part of the Helen Hayes nominated choreography team for The Wiz at Ford’s Theater. As an educator, Josh has worked as a dance coach with MTCA since 2016, coaching high school juniors and seniors through the college audition process. He has also been brought back to NYU to choreograph and teach masterclasses in his specialty (and favorite thing in the world): tap dance.
